Animal Care Hospital is a full-service, privately owned veterinary hospital servicing the High Desert. We offer a family feel with state-of-the-art veterinary care.
We pride ourselves on compassion and clear communication, working with our clients to deliver personalized care to their furry family members.
Dr. Ron Boyd was born and raised in southern California. He’s been working in veterinary medicine since he was 16 years old. He attended UC Irvine and Fresno State for his undergrad, and graduated Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. After graduation, he and his wife moved back to California to continue his career working with animals.
He has taken on various roles over the years, including Chief of Staff, Medical Director, and even Site Preceptor Instructor for Western University College of Veterinary Medicine. It’s no surprise that he enjoys mentoring/training new veterinarians and support staff.
He and his wife have been married for over 20 years and have 3 daughters.
Dr Boyd is a member of the Victorville Rotary Club and enjoys volunteering in the community.
Our clients describe him as having a warm bedside manner and clear communication. He takes the time to get to know your pets and discuss their needs. And he's always good for a "dad joke" or two!
Dr. Tess Clark joined Animal Care Hospital in January 2021. She grew up right here in the high desert. The Apple Valley High grad was active in 4-H and raised many types of animals in her youth.
She attended Brigham Young University, then continued on to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Her veterinary education was completed at Purdue University for her clinical year. She has traveled to many parts of the world, and has practiced veterinary medicine in Ohio and Utah before returning to California.
In addition to cats and dogs, she sees some birds, reptiles and pocket pets. In her off time, she enjoys riding her horses and spending time outdoors.
Suzi, ACH's practice manager as well as a Registered Veterinary Technician, has been in the veterinary field since 2004. She has an Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology, a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from UC Davis, and has completed courses in dentistry under veterinary dentist Dr. Brook Niemiec.
She really enjoys sculpting, painting, and pretty much any form of art, as well as hiking and napping. She and her boyfriend share their home with their gorgeous cat whose face she loves to smoosh, an unbelievably cool little dog, and a rambunctious German Shepherd who *tries* to be the goodest boy, and two new crazy kittens.
Rebecca got her RVT license in 2007. She has an Associates degree from VVC and another from Mt. SAC where she completed her RVT program.
She has also completed courses in dentistry under veterinary dentist Dr. Brook Niemiec.
Married in 2012, she and her husband share their home with their 3 cats.
She enjoys interior design, gardening, and time with her pets. Whenever she gets a chance, she loves to go to Disneyland! She also has a self-admitted obsession with chapstick and pigs.
Jennifer joined Animal Care Hospital April 2019, after 9 years working locally in the veterinary field. She has lived in the high desert her entire life and has a true appreciation for her community. She will likely be the voice you hear when you call and will remember you and your pets. She has a special place in her heart for all animals and strives to provide compassionate care for all of our clients.
Jennifer shares her home with her husband and their three 4-legged babies: 2 dogs named Ruger and Rossi, and a tortoise named Shelltin, who loves water more than a fish. Outside of the clinic, Jennifer enjoys photography, taco Tuesdays, fishing (minus hooking the bait or eating her catch), vegetables, glamping, football (GO RAMS!), spending time with her husband their pets and family, and anything that has to do with wandering where the WIFI is weak. She’s just living one day at a time with a fresh baked cookie in hand (peanut butter NOT chocolate).
Ruthanne has been in the veterinary field since 2002 and has over 5 additional years at the Humane Society. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and has also completed courses in dentistry under veterinary dentist, Dr. Brook Niemiec.
Her hands-on approach lends a great amount of talent to our staff.
In her spare time, she enjoys camping with her husband and doing agility work with her dog. If you can't find her, just listen for her warm laugh!
Marie was born and raised in SoCal. She has her Associates from Carrington College and became a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2020. She has special interests in anesthesia and pain management. She has a background in emergency veterinary medicine, which has given her “a passion for making all animals feel better.”
She and her family have 3 cats, 3 dogs, and 1 snake.
In her time away from work, she loves spending quality time with her 4 crazy but brilliant kids watching scary movies, having cookouts, and going on road trips. She and her fiancé enjoy doing escape rooms, watching football (Packers), and hanging out with friends. She also loves doing puzzles, decorating, and watching 90 Day Fiancé, as well as anything Disney!
Trina has been with ACH since 2007. She is the glue of the hospital. Her hard work and effort to keep things running smoothly are always appreciated.
As a veterinary assistant, she is so caring with our patients. She’s been building her skills over the years and knows every area of ACH inside and out.
In her downtime, she enjoys spending time with friends and relaxing with her two little dogs.
Heather joins us as a June 2014 graduate from a veterinary assistant program after completing her externship with us.
She has always had a love for furry, feathery friends and an occasional reptile too. Her experience in animal care include 2 years as a volunteer at the Dorothy O'Conner Animal Shelter in Texas before moving to the High Desert.
Heather has a full household including 2 children, 2 exotic birds, Miss Kay and Clutch, 2 spoiled Himalayans, Phoebe and Tinker, and 2 dogs, Cherry and Pepsi.
Her goal is to continue her education, while getting the necessary experience and training to become an RVT.
Debi has worked in the veterinary field since 2003. She started her medical career doing medical billing. It wasn't long, however, before she realized that her true calling was to work with animals. She has worked with cats, birds, ferrets, turtles, and rabbits (although dogs are her favorite animal!).
Debi enjoys spending time with her husband and has been known to do an occasional mud run; she's not afraid to get dirty! She likes reading, walking, hiking, gardening, bird watching, and spending time with her two new shepherd puppies.
She has a special place in her heart for senior pets and Basset Hounds, and loves "anything pawprint"
Heather started off with us as an intern while working towards her Registered Veterinary Technician certification, but she has been in the field for several years. Now as a member of our staff, she works with our clients up front as well as assisting with patients in rooms, treatment, and surgery.
She and her husband have 3 children, and an ever-growing group of loving pets. She has a special place in her heart for chickens.
Lizbeth (Liz) joins us from Orange County, alongside her older brother. They have taken care of their precious childhood dog, Minnie, for the past 14 years and their beloved cockatiel, Molly for the last 10. She first gained experienced working at a dog daycare center in 2019 and was super excited for this opportunity to work with medical professionals. You will always find her with a notebook in hand, ready to jot down something new to learn about.
Liz adores reading, especially the Harry Potter and Percy Jackson series. The “happiest place on earth” for her is Universal Studios, with a butterbeer in hand. When she’s not relaxing at home with her brother and two amazing pets, you’ll find her at Barnes and Noble searching for a good book.
Kim has a well-rounded background working with animals ranging from pet grooming, pet rescue/non-profit animal organizations, horse ranch/rescue, pet retail management, and veterinary hospitals. She has even worked at a zoo! She enjoys working with exotic animals such as camels, zebras, and the oh-so-adorable capybara (her husband’s spirit animal), which she considers to be “one of the coolest experiences anyone can have in life.”
Kim joins us from the city of Downey alongside her husband Cris, their two cats named Bucky and Stark, a Great Dane puppy named Freyja, and a deaf chihuahua mix named Pepper. In her free time, Kim enjoys walking her cats on a leash, rearranging her home every week, shrimp boils, watching the occasional true crime documentary, and being Pepper’s social media manager.
Drema has been part of the ACH family for over 16 years! She has worked as a veterinary assistant, and while she's retired from that now, you'll still find her hanging out at ACH throughout the week. She loves working with our new puppy patients, as well as laying with our recovering surgery pets to give them the extra comfort they need.
Drema is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT) and a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT).
Drema was a registered Delta Society dog handler for over 10 years, visiting nursing homes and Alzheimer's units. She and her dogs also worked in the Hospice program for the Visiting Nurse Association, being one of the first teams in the high desert area. She also participated in the monthly children's READ program at the Apple Valley Library.
Today, she puts these skills to use in her dog training classes held right here at our clinic.
Drema has been involved with dog training for over 20 years.
She is a positive reinforcement trainer and her students love her!
